About the Bellebouche blog

We’re renovating an 1850′s French farmhouse in Poitou-Charente

We first saw it in September 2004 on a hot, sunny day. Looked like a great place that was in need of some TLC. Bits of it were more derelict than they looked, other parts less so.

As we go through the process of transforming it from borderline ramshackle heap through to something more modern and liveable we’re keeping a record here for our friends and families – it saves a lot of emailing time.

The renovations (and other assorted happenings) are all here and I know that from the amount of traffic that hits us from google and the like that plenty of people are looking in. Hope you find something interesting here.

As we gain more experience at living life the French way we’ve also added in a few things that are all related to living life in France.

After a few years we’re rapidly filling up our webhosts allotted space with photos. One photo is worth a hundred blog posts so a lot of the Bellebouche photos are now on flickr with their own new audience.

Comments are very much welcomed – please do drop us a line
